Welcome to the Discovery Worship blog! I hope you find this website to be encouraging as you seek the Lord each day. As the worship pastor at Discovery Community Church, I am always looking for ways to help people worship God beyond our time together on Sunday mornings. I started this blog in order to provide additional resources to help you do just that.
This website is really a work in progress. In addition to the weekly worship set, listing each song we sing in our corporate worship time, you'll find profiles of people on the worship team, stories and thoughts about new songs, devotional thoughts and encouragement for your daily life. Please feel free to comment on various posts on this website and let me know your feedback. What works for you, and what could be better?
Let me offer this word of encouragement as you explore this site. Worship is more than just music. In fact, there may be no greater worship we can give to God than to offer back up to Him the very words of life he entrusted to us. As you go through your day, write down these words and meditate on them; then, begin to pray them back to the Lord:
To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy — to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen." (Jude 24-25).
